 On March 10, 1928, a group of twelve missionaries met at the home of Brother and Sister Burlson who resided at 1522 Greenfield Avenue in North Chicago, Illinois. The result of that meeting was the birth of the First Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church. In 1962, the pastor at that time was Pastor Porter. Pastor Porter appointed Reverend Peter Goudeaux, Jr. to head this building fund for a new church was started, located at 1529 Elizabeth Avenue, North Chicago, Illinois a suburb of Chicago, Illinois. In 1966 Reverend Peter Goudeaux, Jr., was appointed as Pastor. Pastor Goudeaux, Jr. served as pastor for twenty-six years, retiring March 13, 1994.
On May 15, 1994, Pastor Eugene Roberson was installed as the new pastor. Today under his leadership, the church continues to grow and thrive. Pastor Roberson’s motto such as “Stay on the Wall, and God Is Good All the Time” has been adapted by all the members of the church. We know that whatever we do we must always put God first, and never cease in our prayers. First Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church will continue to thrive.

On behalf of our Pastor, Eugene Roberson and our Congregation we the Adult Vessels of Praise want to thank you in advance for participating in our 1st Annual Fashion Show, An Afternoon of Divine Elegance!
We are providing each participating church with 2 Personalized Posters to post at your church. We have also included 50 color flyers for distribution to your members.
If your members would like to purchase tickets to support your Pastor and First Lady, please have them complete the enclosed signup sheet and pay for their tickets (envelope enclosed).
We will contact you to get the number of tickets your congregation has purchased and drop off the tickets to you personally before the event for distribution, or you can purchase your tickets at Pope’s Florist, 2202 Grand Avenue in Waukegan. The deadline for purchasing tickets is Sunday, October 30th.
The Special (Private) rehearsal date for the Pastor’s and First Ladies will be held on Thursday, October 27th, at the First Corinthian M. B. Church Annex Building, 1220 16th Street in North Chicago, IL. Rehearsal will start at 6:30 p.m. and end no later than 8:30 p.m. A second, alternative rehearsal will be held on Friday, October 28th, same location at 6:30 p.m. Please save the date on your calendar.
We have enclosed a model package for your Pastor and First Lady to review. On the day of the event, November 5th, please bring your attire to the fashion show; we will have a secure location to store your clothing until it’s time for them to get dressed. We are asking that you arrive at the Venue no later than 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 5th.
Last, we will need a picture of your Pastor and First Lady for our Program Book, no later than October 15th. You can email the picture to tammy.moore@thedrmc.com or we can arrange to pick the photograph up from you.
